I have finished the book now and it was the best book ever. I am glad Mrs. Curry chose this book.

I hope Esperanza can make it through her struggles like how her dad died and she needs money to bring back her grandmother. And she is already working out in the fields picking the crops

I cant believe Esperanza called miquel or whoever it was a peasant !! and Its good that her mom got out of the hospital and is home and it was good esperanza was working to get money and stuff !! :)

Someone took Esperanza's money orders but she found out who took them.It is Esperanza's birthday.

on page #199 Esperanza has to put up with the strikers, because she says they are becoming more organized than ever. Plus she says that Asparagus is a very long season, sometimes up to 10 weeks and it had to be picked before June. The strikers knew that if they could slow down the workers it would effect the growers, so when the stalks were ready the strikers would be too. When the women arrived at the sheds they heard shouting and booing Esperanza was scared and she wanted to go back but she couldn't, she had to pay the bills and earn money for her grandmother.Esperanza is facing the strikers, her dead father, her mother in the hospital and a new way of living. I think this is a really great book about facing the fears of life and overcoming your fears and learning new ways

Well Esperanza's dad has died and here mom had been in the hospital for awhile. She keeps buying money orders for her abuelita to come to were she is living so her mother could be with abuelita. What I want to know is who is still at Esperanza's old neighborhood

Page#154 is about when a doctor came because Esperanza's mom had inhaled dust from the dust storm. Her doctor was American. Esperanza's mom had to be in the hospital until she was better. Esperanza had started to work out in the fields picking fruits and still had time to see her mother

What I don't get is why does Esperanza keep buying money orders? And what are they?
Are they like checks or what?

I think the book is great its very interesting i like all the details !!
